Ephesians 4:12
Dupont Church of the Brethren is a group of believers who strive to put God above all else. We are intentional at taking God's greatest commandment seriously; first, to love God above all else, and second, to love our neighbors as ourselves. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of worship that spurs Christians on toward love and good works, and a deeper relationship with the Father. We also have a deep love for people. Everyone is important to us and we strive that make that known through everything we do. We hope you see that Dupont Church of the Brethren is...
Our mission at Dupont is to Glorify, Go, and Grow.
-
We GLORIFY God through corporate worship together and public and private obedience to God's Word. (John 4:23-24)
-
We GO into the world and share the gospel from a distance through the sending and support of missionaries as well as short term mission trips. We GO into the world locally through various forms of outreach to the lost. (Acts 1:8)
-
We GROW in our walk with the Lord as we expose ourselves to biblical teaching, preaching, group bible studies, personal study of the Word, mentorship, and putting the Word into practice. (Matthew 29:19-20)
Bible: We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testaments, verbally inspired in all parts and therefore wholly without error as originally given of God. The Bible is to be our only infallible rule of faith and practice. (Matt. 5:18; John 10:35, 16:13, 17:17; 2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21)
God: We believe there is one God, who is infinitely perfect, creator of the universe, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 5:48; Matthew 28:19)
Jesus: We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice, rose from the dead, saves all who truly believe in Him, has ascended to the right hand of the Majesty on high, and will come again to establish His kingdom/righteousness/peace. (Philippians 2:6-11; Luke 1:36-38; 1 Peter 3:18; Hebrews 2:9; Romans 5:9; Acts 2:23-24; Hebrews 8:1; Matthew 26:24)
Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit. That he is the divine Agent in nature, revelation, and redemption (Gen. 1:2; Psa. 104:30; 1 Cor. 2:10; 2 Cor. 3:18); that He convicts the world of sin (John 16:8-11), regenerates those who believe (John 3:5), and indwells, baptizes, seals, empowers, guides, teaches, and sanctifies His children. (1 Cor. 6:19, 12:13; Eph. 4:30, 3:16; Rom. 8:14; John 14:26; 1 Cor. 6:11)
Creation: We believe in the Genesis account of Creation. That God created the world in 6 literal days and rested on the 7th. And that He created by speaking the world into existence. (Gen. 1: 2)
Fall Of Man: We believe man was created in the image of God. That he fell by voluntary transgression from his sinless state, the result being that all mankind are sinners. (Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3:6-24; Rom. 5:12, 19)
Salvation Of Man: We believe that sinners are saved wholly by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, that saving faith begins a lifelong relationship with God, and that the requirements for salvation are repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Luke 13:3-5; John 3:16-18; Acts 20:21; Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8, 9)
The Church: We believe the Church consists of all true born again believers. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the use of spiritual gifts, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of biblical ordinances. (Ephesians 1:22-23; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-47; 1 Cor. 12-14)
